Windows 10 Update & Your Printer

By Computer Food on Fri 19 Jun 2020

The recent Windows 10 update has caused a major issue with how your Windows operating system works with your printer.  This update seems to have hit Brother printers the hardest, but can effect any of the major printer brands, HP, Canon, Epson etc.

You do have a couple of options to fix the issue, you can either uninstall the update or install a patch to fix the problem.  We will list both options below for you.

To install the patch for Windows 10:

Please click the link here to find the particular patch for your version of Windows 10.

To uninstall the Windows 10 update:

Step 1: Open the Windows Settings app, one way to do this is pressing Win + i (the Windows key on your keyboard and the letter 'i').
Step 2: Navigate to "Update and Security", Click "Pause update for 7 days", then click "View Update History" next click "Uninstall Updates".
Step 3: Select the most recent Windows update (there should be a column showing the install date) and/or the one showing "KB4560960" or "KB4557957" and choose to uninstall.
Step 4: Wait for the uninstall to complete and then restart the computer.
