Customer Spotlight: Tree Gifts New Zealand

We recently caught up with Lynnette Tonkin, Company Director of Tree Gifts New Zealand and a long-time customer of ComputerFOOD, for an inspiring online interview. Lynnette opened up about her entrepreneurial journey, the growth of her eco-friendly business, and the role ComputerFOOD has played along the way. 

Thank you for taking the time to chat with us, Lynnette.  Can you give us some in-sight into the origin story of Tree Gifts, and what made you realise there was a particular need for the products and service you provide?

In 2004, our family needed to send a sympathy gift across the country. Flowers were the clear, easy choice - but that was the problem. They felt too temporary. We had personally experienced bouquets wilting and dropping petals, sometimes within a week or two. We needed a gift that offered lasting meaning.

After an unsuccessful online search for suitable gifts, we realised we needed to create one ourselves. That's how our online store was born, offering flowering and native tree gifts that can be delivered - gifts designed to be living memories that keep on giving for years.

Can you tell us a bit more about the products you offer at Tree Gifts?

From single tree gifts through to hampers with comforting treats, we now cover all occasions from sympathy to Christmas and everything in between.

Baby gift hampers are especially popular, to welcome little ones to the family or friend circle. As the tree grows along with baby, the photo opportunities over the years are endless - quite the unique height chart.

We also assist businesses to showcase their sustainable commitment with our corporate range of seed gifts. These can be used for popping into employee welcome packs, client Christmas cards, or general customer mail outs.  We wanted to offer eco-friendly gifts by replacing wasteful items such as plastic pens and hopefully a step toward greener business practices.

 

If you don't find a suitable pack on our website, we offer the option of building your Own Gift Box with your recipient in mind by selecting from our full range of body care, savoury and sweet products.

That's truly impressive - we weren't aware you offered such a wide range of options.  Do you have a specific area you work from or deliver to?

Through our Tree Gifts online store, we deliver nationwide across NZ.
