Reduce tape wastage on the Brother P-Touch H110
This is a quick instruction guide for the “H110” series P-Touch Machines for reducing the margins allowing more tape usage and saving money at the same time.
As a note due to the design of the Brother P-Touch H110 the 25mm of tape at the start of the label cannot be adjusted as it needs spacing between the cutter and the tape inside the labeller, but we can control how close the end margin is.
These steps are designed specifically for the following models:
Brother P-Touch H110 White, Black, Blue/White, Light Blue, Pink & PTE300VP but can work for many other P-Touch Handheld Label printers.
- Turn on the H110 label maker by pressing the “Power” button.
- Press “Menu” and use the arrow keys on the label maker to locate “Margin”
- Press “Ok” when “Margin” has been selected and this will enter the margin adjustment mode.
- Use the arrow keys Left or Right to select one of the following margins options.
Full = Labels will have 25mm left & right on of the text (Default option).
Half = Labels will feed 25mm of blank tape then print two dots to guide cutting with scissors, the text will be centred with 12mm left and right of the text.
Narrow = Feeds 25mm of blank tape then prints two dots to guide cutting with scissors, the text will be centred with 4mm left and right of the text.
Chain Print = Use this setting to print a strip of labels with minimum margin between each label. Labels will feed 25mm of blank tape before printing the first label then the rest will be close together reducing tape wastage.
Recommended for more optimal tape usage is Narrow or Chain Print as this heavily reduces the amount of excess tape used every time you print a label.
- Once the margin (Narrow or Chain Print) is selected press “OK”, this takes us back to the point where you can enter in the text you want for the label. Now with Narrow or Chain Print selected you’ve removed the default 25mm tape wastage and allow the label to be cut much closer to the text.
