LC531 and LC531XL cartridges contain built-in authentication chips with unique serial numbers. This security feature from Brother was designed to try prevent aftermarket consumables from working.

To avoid chip conflicts or recognition errors, please purchase only one cartridge of each colour (Black, Cyan, Magenta, and Yellow) at a time in the compatible.
Buying multiple of the same colour in one order will result in duplicate serial numbers that the printer will reject.
